Focus Industries

Our primary focus has been on Technology industries (because of initial client demand), but we have a broad focus of unique fundamental data and coverage across a myriad of sectors
Cascend uses its data to measure the activity in the electronics supply chain by component and end-market on a regular, periodic basis. We monitor individual components, modules and services as they move through the electronics supply chain. We also measure general demand of industry and product / services segments within the electronics supply chain.

In critical areas we focus on consumer demand and trends of specific devices, inlcuding iPhones and other smartphones, wearables, PCs, servers and electric vehicles.
Cascend measures user activity on social media platforms. We primarily focus on the top 200 most downloaded apps on mobile platforms. We follow new user downloads of specific apps on users' smartphones on a regular, periodic basis. We also compare downloads across differing smartphone platforms.

We measure overall user satisfaction by smartphone app and monitor changes in user trends.
Cascend follows solar, electric vehicles, battery and storage technologies, and advances in power management techniques.

In solar we follow the  supply chain from silicon substrates through cells, modules, and complete systems. We also follow the systesm electronics including inverters.

We follow the electric vehicle market from component and subsystems to the vehicle manufacturers to new players and technologies.
Cascend measures supply chain activity of industrial components and subsystems. We have regular, periodic measurements on such areas as factory automation and factory robotic systems, and lower-end factory tools such as CNC routers. We also monitor overall industry trends.

In automotive we track demand by brand and model, with particular attention to online cosumer research activity.

We also follow the electric vehicle market from component and subsystems to the vehicle manufacturers to new players and technologies.
Cascend makes regular measurements of patient interest in specific pharmacuetical brands. We currently track the 500 highest revenue products in the industry. Our data may be viewed as overall demand. Alternatively, the data may be sliced by product, or specific pharma company, or by  specific indication (such as Alzheimer's or pain).

We also track a selection of newly-introduced drugs, monitoring their rate of uptake/interest by patients.

And although we don't currently track medical devices, we care willing to pursue custom projects here.
Cascend monitors the cannabis industry throughout the entire supply chain from cultivation through end products.

We have a particular focus on cannabis extracts and molecules for health and beauty applications. Interest extends from FDA clinical trial-based traditional biotech methodology and medical distribution through hololistic and beauty appplications.

Cascend also tracks cultivation and production with particular focus on medical- and edible-quality extracts, and consumer demand of edibles and other derivative products.

Cascend follows a number of areas in the Resources sector. Our primary interest has been surounding the steel industry, with data on activity in specific steel segments including plate and bar infrastructure steel, rolled steel, wire, and steel oil drilling pipe.

We also follow bulk transportation trends of iron ore and coal as they flow into the steel supply chain.

And we have interest in resources which supply batteries, power management and storage, and components.
Cascend monitors global energy supply and demand. We measure supply chain activity of petroleum products, producers and refiners with an emphasis on Asia petroleum demand. We also track port and shipping information.

We have a primary focus on producers in the Permian Basin and the Port of Houston.

Cascend tracks a variety of shipping supply chain data to develop an overall picture of the industry. We monitor container shipping volumes and activity -- including rates and capacity -- with a focus on shipments from Asia to the U.S.

We also focus heavily on North American rail data to corroborate the trends we see in marine shipping.

And we watch the North American  trucking industry as part of the impacts on overall shipping trends, including hiring difficulties and new technologies.
Cascend makes regular, periodic measurements of consumer demand activity by brand. Our technology allows us to distill trends in consumer demand.

Our primary focus to date has been on luxury apparel and assessories, streaming media/music, apps and software and consumer devices.
Cascend measures specific areas in the chemical industry supply chain such as activity in the ethylene / polyethylene area, general petrochemicals, elastomers and inorganics.

We also monitor pricing of specific plastics precursors, and some bulk transportation trends, including clean chemicals tanker capacity and utilization.
Through our direct fundamental measurements of supply chain activity, transportation, materials, industrial equipment, and consumer demand, Cascend is able to create a fundamental mosiac picture of macro trends across the overall devoloped economies, and reads into several of the largest economic nations and regions.
